The History Of Sveti Vlas

The first settlement was founded by the Greeks in the II century ad, called Larissa.

In the fourteenth century the name changed to St.Vlas, the name of the monastery located here. With the seizure of these lands by the Turks, the monastery was destroyed, and the city was renamed simply "Monastery". Finally, in 1886 the name "Sveti Vlas"was returned to the village.

In 1963, there was founded a marine climatic resort, from which the development of the area as a resort. There are large resorts, including children's.

On February 2, 2006 Sveti Vlas received city rights.

In recent years, the city has developed active construction in unoccupied areas. If you look at the map - you can see that along the coast, at some distance from the sea, there is a road. The historic city is not on the coast, but behind the road. Thus, the strip along the beach remained undeveloped for a long time. Thus, the resort complexes down to the sea.

Currently, the construction is almost over-the city is fully ready for recreation.
